White sand beaches, spice-scented streets, and the warmest waters in the Indian Ocean. Add Zanzibar to any safari or visit on its own.
After days in the bush watching wildlife and sleeping under the stars, Zanzibar is the reward. A short flight from Arusha takes you to an island where time slows down, the sand is powder-white, and the water is every shade of blue you can imagine.
We arrange everything: flights from Arusha, airport transfers, beach resort accommodation, and activities like spice tours, Stone Town walking tours, dolphin trips, and snorkelling. Your Zanzibar extension is planned alongside your safari so the whole trip feels seamless.
Plan Your Zanzibar Trip
Zanzibar's story is a 2,000-year layering of African, Arab, Persian, Indian and European influence. From the eighth century the islands grew rich on the trade winds, exchanging cloves, ivory and gold across the Indian Ocean. By the early 1800s the Sultan of Oman had moved his capital from Muscat to Stone Town, making Zanzibar the heart of an empire that stretched the length of the Swahili coast.
At the centre of it all sits Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved Swahili trading cities in the world. Its narrow alleys wind past coral-stone houses, ornately carved teak doors, hidden courtyards, the old Arab Fort and the former slave market. We arrange Stone Town walking tours with a local guide who grew up here, including sunset street food at Forodhani Gardens.
Zanzibar has centuries of history, vibrant markets, and underwater worlds waiting to be explored.
Wander the UNESCO World Heritage old town. Narrow alleyways, carved wooden doors, bustling markets, and centuries of Swahili, Arab, and European history layered into every corner.
Zanzibar is the Spice Island. Visit working spice farms to see cloves, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg growing. Taste fresh spices, learn their stories, and bring some home.
The coral reefs around Mnemba Atoll are some of the best in East Africa. Crystal visibility, tropical fish, sea turtles, and dolphin encounters just off the coast.
Head to Kizimkazi in the south for a chance to swim with wild bottlenose and humpback dolphins in the warm Indian Ocean waters.
The east coast beaches of Nungwi and Kendwa have powdery white sand and warm turquoise water year-round. The perfect place to unwind after a safari.
Sail on a traditional wooden dhow as the sun sets over Stone Town. Fresh seafood, cold drinks, and the golden Indian Ocean sky.
Most travellers add 3 to 5 nights in Zanzibar after their safari. We handle the flights, transfers, and accommodation so you don't have to think about a thing.
